Boating Education, Events, Activities and More
When fully implemented, California’s Boating Card law will require all motor vessel operators to have a California Boating Card (CBC). As of January 1, 2018 the law applies to motor vessel operators 20 years old and younger. To obtain a CBC one must successfully complete a qualified boating course. – our America’s Boating Course is qualified by the State of California.
Your Santa Barbara chapter of America’s Boating Club (formerly United States Power Squadrons) will offer its America’s Boating Course that teaches boating basics and safety (sail, power, PWC, paddle etc.) to you and your crew. The ABC Course Covers: ➢ Safety Equipment ➢ Boating Operations ➢ Navigation Rules and Aids ➢ Lights and Sound Signals ➢ Anchoring ➢ Adverse Conditions ➢ Water Sports Safety ➢ Trailering ➢ Knots and Lines ➢ Federal and State Regulations ➢ Final Exam (5th week)
Schedule: The five session class begins Tuesday evening February 26, 2019; 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM
The fee for the course is $50 per person – Price includes “America’s Boating Course” Study Guide. Couples may share the material for and additional $25 for the second person
NOTE: Because of classroom scheduling conflicts the five sessions might not be on successive weeks. Your instructors will advise any changes.
